Our History
In 1976 Gelmer Boetsma bought a share of a company called West End 66 from Herp De Roo. Then, West End 66 was a 2 bay garage, gas was 6o cents a gallon, the average income per year was 16,ooo dollars, the average cost for a private college tuition was 1,200 dollars and Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak came out with the first Apple computer that cost $666. Today West End 66 has become Westside Service Center. Now, the company has become a 7 bay state of the art facility solely owned by Gelmer's oldest son Terry Boetsma, the average gallon of gas is now 3.50, the average income is 46,000 dollars a year, the average apple computer costs 1,500 dollars.
Over the years the average cost of living has changed significantly but Westside Service Centers idea of service and care have not. As time passed Herp and Boets passed down attributes and standards that are still used as guidelines for customer care and service here today. We cannot control costs but we can control the type of service that you receive and good service is what we do our best to provide.
In 2014 Westside Service Center opened a 2nd location in Holland, Michigan. We now have 4 convenient locations in West Michigan to offer you best in business auto care -- Zeeland, Holland, Gateway Campus and Allegan.
